Dear visitors to this website
I would like to extend my warmest welcome to our Town.
I have the luck of being the Mayor of this beautiful town in Rioja Alavesa, which was granted the title of “Villa” (free town) in 1633 by King Felipe IV.
Strategically located at a crossroads, bordering the Autonomous Communities of La Rioja and Navarre, it is the southernmost town in the Basque Autonomous Community.
It has an intensive agricultural and industrial activity -as you will be able to confirm in this website- and, particularly, wonderful people who know how to welcome travellers and provide them with good food and accommodation.
I would like to encourage you to visit our town and enjoy its beautiful spots and museums, visit its famous bodegas and taste its delicious wines which belong to the most reputed wine Designation of Origin in Spain, Rioja.
Yours cordially,
THE MAYOR-PRESIDENT ALBERTO ORTEGA MELÓN
TENIENTES DE ALCALDE
1st Alderman: José A. Tarragona Elejalde.
2nd Alderman:José Felix Alvarez Rico.
3rd Alderman: José Ignacio Sánchez Ansótegui. |
